Kazakhstan to Send Observers to Turkmen Presidential Elections

The Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan on Thursday approved the list of observers to be sent to monitor the March 12 early presidential elections in Turkmenistan, the commission’s press service reports.

Four representatives of Kazakhstan will participate in monitoring of elections in Turkmenistan within the CIS and SCO observer missions.

The Central Commission for Elections and Referendums (Central Election Commission) of Turkmenistan announced on Thursday that it has registered 2,726 national observers to monitor the elections. The national observers, within the limits of their powers, monitor the compliance of the election campaign with the law.

The Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan has registered nine candidates for the highest state post of Turkmenistan since the start of presidential election campaign on February 14.
