Kazakhstan is interested in continuing cooperation with Turkmenistan on the conservation of Red Book animals

The opening of the 14th meeting of the parties to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS COP14) was held yesterday in Samarkand.

In his welcoming speech to the participants of the meeting, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan Erlan Nysanbaev said that the republic expresses interest in continuing cooperation with Turkmenistan,

Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in the field of ecology, the “Turkmendenizderyayollary” Agency reports with reference to kazinform.

Cooperation mainly concerns the conservation of Red Book species of animals, including saiga, snow leopard and others.

The meeting of the parties will last until February 17. It is attended by 1,7 thousand delegates from countries participating in the convention, known as Bonn, as well as representatives of international organizations, the source notes.
