Kazakh tennis player climbed to 7th place in the WTA rankings

Kazakhstani tennis player Elena Rybakina became the winner of the tournament in Indian Wells for the first time in her career, writes “Championat”.

In the decisive match of the tournament, Rybakina defeated the representative of Belarus Arina Sobolenko in 2 hours and 6 minutes with a score of 7:6, 6:4.

During the tournament, Rybakina defeated Sofia Kenin (USA), Paula Badosa (Spain), Varvara Gracheva (Russia), Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic), Iga Swiatek (Poland) and Arina Sobolenko (Belarus).

Thanks to this victory, the first racket of Kazakhstan rose to the seventh position in the ranking of the Women's Tennis Association. For winning the Indian Wells tournament, Rybakina received over 1 million USD in prize money.
