On October 28, 2020, the XXV International Conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2020" (OGT-2020) started in Ashgabat.This prestigious international forum was organized by the State Concerns Turkmengaz and Turkmennebit in partnership with the Turkmenforum Company, informs the web-site of the MFA of Turkmenistan.
The high-level conference is attended by heads and representatives of ministries and specialized departments of Turkmenistan, diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations, journalists from local and foreign media.
Heads and representatives of the world's leading oil and gas companies, reputable international organizations and financial institutions also participate in the forum via video conferencing.As is known, the annual profile review contributes to the development and establishment of new ties in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan.
As noted in the Message of the President of Turkmenistan to the conference participants, the energy strategy of the country, which has colossal hydrocarbon resources, is aimed at giving dynamics to the fuel and energy sector and its integration into the global energy system, as evidenced by effective measures to form an extensive network of gas pipelines and diversify the supply of Turkmen energy to external markets.
Along with Turkmen speakers, among the speakers of the current specialized conference are Urban Rusnak - Secretary General of the Secretariat of the European Energy Charter Council, Ajmal Ahmadi Acting Chairman of the Central Bank of Afghanistan, Huang Yongzhang - Vice President of CNPC (China), Ronald Nash - Head of the British-Turkmen Business Council, Maryam Almaszade - Executive Director, SOCAR Trading SA, Ali Al Jarvan - Chief Executive Officer of Dragon Oil.
During the panel sessions, presentations by the heads and leading experts of NAPECO, the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, Vitol Group, Methinks Ltd., PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd, LUKOIL, Schlumberger Logelco, Inc., the Society of Engineers oil workers (SPE), Technip FMC, Gazpromneft-Catalytic Systems, Oxford Institute for Energy Research and other experts in the international oil and gas sector.
The conference will touch upon such important topics as energy diplomacy of Turkmenistan, global trends in energy markets and the prospect of developing mutually beneficial cooperation, attracting investments in the offshore blocks of the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea, monetizing oil and gas, the effectiveness of the gas chemical and oil refining complex of Turkmenistan in the context of environmental safety.
