Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba sent a letter to Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, expressing his anticipation of their meeting at the upcoming World Expo 2025 in Osaka.
In his message, Ishiba thanked Berdimuhamedov for his congratulatory remarks upon his appointment, highlighting Turkmenistan as a key strategic partner for Japan in promoting a free and open international order based on the rule of law, according to Turkmenistan’s official media on Wednesday.
He emphasized the deepening cooperation between Japan and Turkmenistan in areas such as economics, science, and culture.
“The summit planned for August this year was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, but to further strengthen ties between Japan and Turkmenistan, I look forward to engaging actively with Your Excellency through the Central Asia + Japan’ Dialogue, which marked its 20th anniversary this year,” Ishiba stated.
Ishiba also extended gratitude to Turkmenistan’s National Leader and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for his congratulatory message and kind words on his appointment as Prime Minister.
