Japan becomes Asian Futsal Champion after beating Iran in final

Kuwait hosted the final match of the 2022 Asian Futsal Cup. Japan for the fourth time in history became the champion of Asia, beating Iran with a score of 3:2.

In the match for third place, the national team of Uzbekistan defeated the team of Thailand with a score of 8:2.

The top scorer of this Asian Cup was the attacking leader of the Iranian national team Hossein Tayebi, who scored 10 goals.

The Asian Futsal Cup (formerly the Asian Futsal Championship) has been held since 1999 among the national teams that are members of the Asian Football Confederation. Tournaments held in the year of the World Cup are also qualifications for the world championship for the teams.

The Iranian national futsal team is the undisputed leader in the history of the competition, having won 12 out of 17 possible.
