January-June: Turkmenistan Merchant Marine Fleet Increases Volume of Cargo Transportation

The total volume of cargo transportation by vessels of the Merchant Marine Fleet for January - June 2023 increased by 31.4% compared to the same period of 2022 and amounted to 1,150.50 thousand tons.

According to the press service of the Merchant Marine Fleet of Turkmenistan, in the first six months of 2023, the plan for cargo transportation was fulfilled by 132.2%.

According to the report, for the corresponding period, cargo turnover amounted to 476.838 million ton-kilometers, which is 28.7% higher than in the same period of 2022.

At the same time, the passenger turnover increased by 100.8% compared to the same period of 2022 and reached 3.713 million passenger kilometers.

Marine Merchant Fleet Closed Joint Stock Company of Turkmenistan reduced tariffs for road vehicle transportation on the Turkmenbashi - Baku (Alyat) - Turkmenbashi route from March 1 of the current year.
