January-April: Trade Turnover Between Turkmenistan and UAE Grows by 6.3%

The foreign trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates increased by 6.3% from January to April this year compared to the same period last year, announced Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Mergen Gurdov at the Turkmen-Emirati business forum held in Ashgabat on Tuesday.

According to Gurdov, the UAE ranks among the top five countries with which Turkmenistan has the largest foreign trade turnover.

In 2023, trade between Turkmenistan and the UAE reached $1.29 billion, which is a 15.8% increase compared to 2022. Turkmenistan's exports to the UAE increased by 13.3%, while imports from the UAE to Turkmenistan grew by 16.2%, noted Deputy Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan Kerimberdi Gurbanov.

The main exports from Turkmenistan to the UAE include products from the chemical industry, the fuel and energy sector, and agricultural products. Imports from the UAE primarily consist of metallurgical products, vehicles, equipment, and machinery.

Kerimberdi Gurbanov added that efforts are currently underway to participate in upcoming major exhibitions in the UAE.

An exhibition at the Expo Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry showcased the development and efficiency of international investment and national projects in Turkmenistan, presented by relevant ministries, state concerns, associations, and individual enterprises.
