Italy’s population to fall by 11.5 million in 50 years

As per the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) updated population estimate for 2021, the population of Italy will decrease by 11.5 million people in 50 years.Experts have calculated that the number of inhabitants of Italy, which amounted to 59.2 million people as of January 1, 2021, will decrease to 57.9 million people in 2030.

And by 2050 this figure will be 54.2 million people, and in 2070 47.7 million people.

In accordance with forecasts, the country’s population is expected to decrease by 11.5 million people over the next 50 years, Anadolu agency reports.
