Iranian Foreign Minister Arrives in Ashgabat

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian arrived in Ashgabat on Thursday for discussions with senior officials of Turkmenistan on expanding bilateral ties and mutual regional cooperation.

At the international airport in Ashgabat, the Iranian Foreign Minister was welcomed by Turkmenistan's Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov, according to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The agenda of Hossein Amir Abdollahian's talks with Turkmenistan representatives includes the enhancement of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation in the fields of energy, transportation, and transit.

"I am heading to Ashgabat to expand and strengthen the ties between Iran and Turkmenistan," stated the head of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a message on the Ministry's website.
