Hossein Amirabdollahian is going to visit Turkey on Monday for the first time in his capacity as the foreign minister of Iran, before traveling to Turkmenistan.
Iran’s ambassador to Ankara announced in a post on his Twitter account that Amirabdollahian will go to Turkey on Monday evening.
According to Mohammad Farazmand, the top Iranian diplomat is planned to hold talks with Turkey’s foreign minister and a number of other top officials during his stay in Ankara.
His visit to Turkey, which has been deferred twice in recent weeks, will focus on the relations between Tehran and Ankara and regional developments.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh has announced that Amirabdollahian will later head to Turkmenistan to take part in a meeting of foreign ministers of the Caspian Sea states.
