Iran’s Chamber Chief Sees Strong Turkmenistan Collaboration Prospects

Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of Turkmenistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, met with Samad Hassanzade, head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, in Tehran, Iran's capital, on Saturday. During the meeting, Hassanzade noted the significant potential for cooperation in the areas of tourism and health tourism, industry, mining, and agriculture.

According to the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, the total volume of trade between Turkmenistan and Iran was disclosed to be $450 million.

Hassanzade emphasized the feasibility of establishing a preferential trade system to expand trade ties between Iran and Turkmenistan.

In turn, the Turkmen side expressed readiness for Turkmenistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry to make efforts to further expand bilateral trade.

Gurdov highly praised the high level of the Iran Expo 2024 exhibition, currently taking place in Tehran. The Chairman of Turkmenistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted that a similar event is held annually in Turkmenistan and invited Iranian businessmen to attend.
