Iran Proposes to Supply Oil Industry Equipment to Turkmenistan

Vahidreza Zeidifard, Deputy Minister of Petroleum of Iran for Engineering, Research and Technology Affairs, in a meeting with managers of Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas), Türkmennebit (Turkmen Oil) and Türkmenhimiýa (Turkmen Chemicals) state concerns in Ashgabat proposed to supply Turkmenistan with Iranian oil industry equipment, the Iranian Petroleum Ministry’s news agency Shana reported on Sunday.

A delegation from the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum, led by Vahidreza Zeidifard held separate meetings with the Turkmen officials on the sidelines of the Specialized Economic Exhibition of Iran, that took place on February 15-17.

Zeidifard introduced the capabilities of Iranian companies active in the oil industry. He highlighted the fact that over 70 percent of the equipment and items used in the Iranian oil industry are manufactured by domestic producers, and proposed to supply Turkmenistan with such equipment.

Expressing Iran’s readiness for building refineries, developing oil and gas fields, and supplying high-quality parts and equipment at a competitive price to the Turkmen parties, he invited the oil and gas officials of Turkmenistan to visit Iran to get familiar with the capabilities of the country’s oil industry.

The deputy head of Turkmen national natural gas company Turkmengaz for his part welcomed the presence of Iranian companies, especially from the Petroleum Ministry, in this exhibition and expressed hope that the cooperation between the two friendly and brotherly countries would develop further.

The representative of Turkmenistan’s state chemicals concern Türkmenhimiýa said in his meeting with the Iranian delegation that very good proposals have been made for cooperation between the two sides and the concern is eager to cooperate with Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) for the benefit of both countries, according to the report.

At the end of the meetings, it was decided that the Turkmen parties should provide Iran with a list of the equipment and parts needed by their industries through diplomatic authorities so that the Iranian side can take action to supply them.

The Specialized Economic Exhibition of Iran held at the expo center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan presented the products of the Iranian industrial enterprises and modern Iranian technologies and engineering services.
