Iran beat Wales in World Cup 2022 with two goals in stoppage time

The Iranian national team defeated the Wales team in the second round match of the group stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is being held in Qatar. The meeting of group “B” was held at the stadium “Ahmed bin Ali” in Er Rayyan and ended with a score of 2:0.

Defenders Roozbeh Cheshmi (98th minute) and Ramin Rezaeian (90+11) excelled in the Iranian national team.

In the 86th minute of the meeting, the Welsh were left with ten men after the removal of goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy. This is the first removal at the current World Cup.

Forward Serdar Azmoun started the Iranian national team and played 68 minutes. In the second half, the striker of Turkmen origin hit the post. In the first round in a match with England, his shot hit the crossbar.

Thanks to this victory, the Iranian team with 3 points has risen to the second line in the standings of group “B”, Wales (1 points) are in fourth place. The leader of the quartet is the England team (3 points), which today will play a match with the team of the United States of America (1 point).

Let us remind that in the first round, Iran lost a lot to England (2:6), and the Welsh tied with the US team (1:1).

In the next match, the Iranians will meet with the Americans, the Welsh - with the British. Both meetings will be held on November 29.
