Investments in Turkmenistan to Exceed 1.35 Billion Manats in 2023

In accordance with the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028", the amount of capital investments in the country will exceed 1.35 billion manats, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of the country’s bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, informed during the Halk Maslakhaty meeting on Wednesday.

The meeting focused on the Law "on the State Budget of Turkmenistan for 2023” and was attended by members of the parliament and government, representatives of ministries and line departments, public organizations, mass media and youth, the country’s official media reports.

“Every year the volume of capital investments in the country grows, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, adding that the 2023 investments are significantly higher as compared to 2022.

“Along with this, investments aimed at improving the living standards of the population are increasing. Certain volumes of capital investments should be directed to the construction of facilities and structures for industrial, social and cultural purposes,” the Halk Maslakhaty Chairman Berdimuhamedov stated.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the relevance of directing investment in the development of the economy mainly through diversification and the creation of industries on an innovation basis in order to achieve greater results in 2023.
