International transport forum is interested in expansion of cooperation with Turkmenistan

The Foreign Ministry held online talks between Secretary General of the International Transport Forum Yang Tae Kim and representatives of relative government authorities of the country.It was highlighted that transport sphere is one of the key segments of the world economy in modern conditions, which directly effects the stability and balance of the world economic relations and plays an important role in solution of objectives of sustainable development.

The Ashgabat Declaration and Ashgabat Statement, which were adopted by the outcomes of High-level International Conference and the First Global Sustainable Transport Conference under the UN aegis, which were held in Turkmenistan in 2014 and 2016, are the bases for optimization of productive cooperation in strategic transport section.

International Transport Forum (ITF), which is integrated into Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, is an intergovernmental organization with 60 countries as members.This structure is an analytical centre for transport policy and organizes annual summit of the transport ministers where heads of different international organization, parliamentarians, representatives of business associations and leading world companies also take part.

Having highly appraised practice of Turkmenistan, which successfully implements big projects for establishment of international transit and transport corridors supporting efficient development of interstate trade and economic relations, Mr Yang Tae Kim said about the interest of his structure in close cooperation with our country.
