International Transport Conference ITTC-2024 Starts in Ashgabat

On November 26, the international conference “International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development 2024” opened in Ashgabat, dedicated to the World Sustainable Transport Day.

The plenary session, opened by the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakyev, brought together high-ranking representatives of international organizations.Among the participants were the UN Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt, the Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union Umberto de Pretto and the heads of transport departments of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Romania.

The conference program of the first day is focused on two key areas: the development of transport corridors and the search for innovative mechanisms for financing sustainable transport.During the conference, participants will discuss issues of effective integration of various transport systems and investment strategies.

A separate block of the event will be a session dedicated to women in the transport industry. Experts will present success stories and discuss the prospects for the development of an inclusive corporate culture.

The conference will continue its work until November 27.

As we reported earlier, the President of Turkmenistan congratulated the participants of the conference, dedicated to the World Sustainable Transport Day.
