International Ice and Snow Festival launched in China

After almost 20 days of preparation, the 22nd Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival has opened in northeast China.

The festival has been held since 1963 in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province, which is one of the centers of ice and snow culture in the world. It is one of the four largest ice-themed festivals. For a month, the city turns into an ice Kingdom.

This year, the Park with an area of 600 thousand square meters is divided into six parts. Visitors can also admire ice sculptures by masters from foreign countries, including Russia, Greece and Latvia. The main attraction of the festival guests is the Ice and Snow World site an entire city district turned into an ice country.

A visit to the festival with amazing creations made of snow is combined with a ski recreation in the resort of Yabuli and swimming in ice-holes of the Sungari River, which ice is taken for the construction of sculptures. Each participant has 15 days to produce their own project.

The festival will last until the end of February.
