During a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, held on July 19, Deputy Prime Minister Mahrijemal Mammedova presented a report on preparations for the international film festival “Gorkut ata”. According to the
State News Agency of Turkmenistan, this event is planned for November of this year in accordance with a special Plan approved by the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan dated January 4, 2023.
The festival program includes a number of significant events:
1.Forum of leaders of the cinematographic sphere of the Turkic states with the participation of the Secretary General of the International Organization TURKSOY. 2.Screening of films from countries participating in the festival in cinemas and concert centers in Ashgabat. 3.
Master classes by famous foreign actors and directors. 4.Cultural program for delegates, including excursions to the city of Arkadag, the architectural complex Seýit Jemaleddin, the national museum Ak bugdaý in the city of Anau, declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024. 5.
Visit to the International Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex and show performances by the “Galkynyş” National Equestrian Games Group.The Deputy Prime Minister submitted to the head of state a proposal to hold the festival on November 4-5 this year in order to ensure the organized participation of foreign guests.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, summarizing the report, emphasized the importance of the events taking place in the country in connection with the declaration of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
The head of state approved the proposal to hold the international film festival “Gorkut ata” and ordered to take appropriate measures to organize this creative forum at a high level.
