President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Thursday approved a joint project with South Korean government body on establishing the Information Accessibility Center in Turkmenistan.
The new project was proposed by Sapardurdy Toyliyev, the Deputy Chairman of the Government on science, education, healthcare and sports issues, country’s official media reports.
The creation of the Information Accessibility Center, proposed by the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technologies of South Korea, is expected to be equipped with modern communication technologies, computer hardware, necessary servers, networking and software to install a high-speed Internet system.
The Vice-Premier Toyliyev said the proposal has been studied by the Turkmen Ministry of Education and is considered an important step to expand the Turkmen-Korean cooperation in the education field.
The new center will contribute to the technological and innovative development of the digital education system of Turkmenistan, improvement of digital educational services, creation of the necessary modern electronic educational base, improving the literacy of citizens on web design and programming by providing access to electronic educational resources, Sapardurdy Toyliyev said during his briefing.
Endorsing the proposal, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said the new project would be a great contribution to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and South Korea.
