In the run-up to the Presidential inspection not only cars but also garbage bins are being removed in Ashgabat

Ahead of a helicopter inspection of Ashgabat by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov or the mayor, police officers had previously forced residents to remove the vehicles parked in front of residential houses or tow them away to fee-based car parks.

Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that in the meantime garbage containers installed in the yards of organizations or enterprises need to be hidden as well.

The companies Aşgabatagyzsuw, Aşgabatenergo, Türkmenkabel, the pharmaceuticals factory and transportation organizations were charged with the task of covering garbage bins with tents or hiding them under sheds. The Interior Ministry staff will control the execution of the newly-introduced requirement.

The garbage bins are installed in the yards and cannot be seen from the streets. Why do we need to hide them? Putting an empty bin aside is one thing but it is a totally another story when it is full, an employee of the drinking water supply department commented on the situation.

The head of state last inspected the capital piloting a helicopter on 4 February, 2020.
