Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that on the eve of the Night of Power (Laylat Al Qadr) donations from residents are being distributed among the disabled and those who have lost a sold wage earner in Ashgabat’s mosques.
Today donations of 100 manats are being handed out to the underprivileged in the mosque Hezreti Omar located in the residential district of Parakhat-7.
Religious leaders have established Piträ, a minimum amount of donations for each member of the household, in advance. It is calculated based on the price of a kilo of wheat at the market. This year it amounts to 6 manats.
People donate money and groceries as they see fit not only to mosques and orphanages but directly to those in need.
