In the eastern region of Turkmenistan, a reconstruction of an architectural monument of the XIX century is underway

“Kerki” state historical and cultural reserve’s employees conduct restoration work in the Akmuhammed Ishan madrasah, which is located near the village of Astanababa of the Kerki etrap of Lebap velayat. This is reported by Jeyhun.news.

Akmuhammed Ishan madrasah is an architectural monument of the XIX century, located in the south west of Astanababa village on the 12th kilometer of the “Kerki — Turkmenabat” highway.

The dome of the madrasah is made of burnt bricks. The walls consist of two layers: the outer layer is made of raw brick, the inner one is made of clay.

In Lebap there are a lot of well-known monuments of the medieval architecture. One of them is the Astanababa mausoleum, which is part of a memorial complex consisting of a mosque and a tomb.
