In Kazan, 130 kilograms of chak-chak were prepared to meet guests of the BRICS summit

Tatarstan has prepared a large-scale treat for the participants of the BRICS summit: 130 kilograms of the national delicacy chak-chak were prepared especially for the meeting of foreign delegations. As reported by the press service of the republic's leadership, the traditional dessert was divided into 65 portions, RIA Novosti writes.

The ceremony of welcoming the distinguished guests took place at the Kazan airport, where the head of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, personally greeted the arriving leaders of the states. Following centuries-old traditions of hospitality, the guests were offered to taste not only Tatar chak-chak, but also Russian karavai.

The organizers made sure that not only the heads of state, but also all members of the delegations could enjoy the traditional treat. For those interested in the process of preparing the honey delicacy, a special master class was organized at the “Tugan avylym” ethnocomplex.

Chak-chak, which is the hallmark of Tatar cuisine, is made from small pieces of dough fried in oil, which are then held together with honey syrup and piled in a pile.
