In China, bank employees glued together banknotes torn into 100 000 pieces

In Kunming, China, employees at the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) demonstrated incredible patience and diligence in restoring bills that had been torn into more than 100 000 pieces. This is reported by pravilamag.ru with reference to Beijing Youth Daily.

The story began when a woman surnamed Zhang approached the bank with an unusual request. She brought the remains of banknotes worth 32 000 yuan (about 4 500 USD) that were destroyed five years ago by her daughter-in-law, who suffered from a mental disorder.

The situation was complicated by the fact that, Brother Zhang, a recently widowed father of four living in a remote mountain village, was in dire need of these funds. Other financial institutions refused to help due to the difficulty of recovering banknotes.

However, the ICBC team rose to the challenge. Four bank employees devoted 22 days to painstaking work to restore the money. They noted the unprecedented nature of the task, highlighting that some of the fragments were smaller than a fingernail, requiring the use of magnifying glasses.

In gratitude for their exceptional service and compassion, Zhang presented the bank employees with a specially crafted silk banner.
