At the 11th meeting of the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding, held in Ashkhabad on Friday, April 16, was marked with a start of a number of actions in honour of the national holiday of Turkmen horse which this year for the first time is celebrated simultaneously with the Holiday of the Turkmen alabay.
The meeting of the Association was held in the hotel “Oghuzkent” under the chairmanship of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as was informed by the website Turkmenistan today.
Participants of the forum summed up the teamwork within the framework of the Association and discussed actual issues of the organisation created in 2010 and for today uniting more than 190 legal and physical persons from Turkmenistan and 36 more countries.
The president also signed decrees on conferring upon distinguished horse breeders and dog breeders of the country state awards, honorary title “Honoured Horse-Breeder of Turkmenistan” (“Türkmenistanyň at gazanan atşynasy”) to active foreign members of the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding.
Among them are heads of horse-breeding farms specialising in breeding of Akhalteke horses, Tito Pontecorvo (USA) and Maria Mosar (Russia) who spoke at the meeting in a remote mode via visual communication.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was awarded the honorary title “Master Mentor” in the field of horse breeding “Türkmenistanyň ussat halypa seyis”. It was announced by chairwoman of the national Parliament Gulshat Mammedova.
During the meeting the new head of the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding was also elected. Skilled, famous horse breeders of the country proposed the candidate of Serdar Berdimuhamedov to this post, the proposal was supported by Turkmen and foreign members of the Association, unanimously having voted for his election as the president of the organisation.
Festive actions will proceed all the next week.They include an exhibition-fair and XIII scientific conference The Turkmen racer and world art of horse breeding, sports competitions, including a horse marathon, tournament in show jumping, and competitions of young jockeys.
The most beautiful Akhalteke horse and the best Turkmen alabay of the year will be also chosen.The art competition in the best embodiment of the image of the Akhalteke horse and the Turkmen alabay in the fine art, decorative and applied art, printing and video production will be also summed up.
