Important information for Turkmen citizens living in Turkey

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkey reported on its official website that fake information is being spread on the Internet (social networks) about the extension of the validity of biometric passports for citizens of Turkmenistan temporarily or permanently residing in the territory of the Republic of Turkey until 2025.

The Embassy once again reminds that in accordance with the Decrees of the President of Turkmenistan, the validity of passports of citizens of Turkmenistan for exit from Turkmenistan and entry into Turkmenistan, temporarily staying or permanently residing in foreign countries, expired or expiring from January 1, 2020 to December 30, 2024, are extended ONLY until December 31, 2024.

Therefore, the Embassy informs citizens of Turkmenistan temporarily or permanently residing abroad about the need to renew their biometric passports upon expiration on December 31, 2024.

In case of loss, theft, expiration or unsuitability of biometric passports, the “Certificate of Return to Turkmenistan” is issued to Turkmen citizens temporarily or permanently residing in foreign countries only for the purpose of returning to their country.
