IIHF provided sports equipment for junior hockey teams of Turkmenistan

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) provided a large batch of sports equipment free of charge for junior hockey teams of Turkmenistan aged 13-15 years. The agreement was reached at the May IIHF Congress in Prague, said the Chairman of the Hockey Federation of Turkmenistan, Jora Khudaiberdyev.

“Sports equipment includes shorts, bibs, elbow pads, shin guards, sticks, protective gloves, neck guards (special protection for the throat - ed.), etc. All this will soon be distributed among the youth teams “Galkan”, “Şir”, “ Oguzhan", "Alp Arslan" and "Burgut".

The State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Education and Sports again provided great assistance in processing these grants.

It is worth saying here that the IIHF is very actively cooperating with us, responding to any requests. The President of the International Federation, Luc Tardif, always speaks positively about the work of our sports organization, which is equally actively involved in the promotion and development of hockey not only at the national level, but also at the international level,” the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper quotes Hudayberdyev as saying.

He also added that the successful implementation of sports programs was made possible thanks to government support and personal attention to the development of sports from the government of Turkmenistan.
