IDB held a seminar on effective procurement in Turkmenistan

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) held a four-day seminar on effective procurement in Ashgabat. Business workshops were held at the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, line ministries and departments, local contractors and consultants, according to a press release from the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The seminar provided a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IDB-financed projects in Turkmenistan.

Representatives of the Islamic Development Bank shared with participants the necessary tools for conducting due diligence to achieve effective project implementation. They also provided an overview of the bank’s procurement structure and mechanisms for their implementation, and provided basic information on identifying business opportunities financed by the IDB in Turkmenistan.

The Islamic Development Bank continues to support Turkmenistan's efforts to develop national systems for efficient procurement activities.
