Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that medical doctors refuse to get sick Ashgabat residents admitted to hospital by reserving wards to COVId-19 patients.
New patients are not being admitted to the tuberculosis department of the infectious diseases hospitals located in the district of Choganly. They are currently being referred to the infectious diseases hospital located in the village of Dushak, 170 kilometers from the capital.
The remaining departments of the aforementioned hospital are currently vacant. According to doctors, these premises have been reserved to admit potential coronavirus patients in case a large number of COVID-19 cases are identified. Employees of the public health and disease control station make sure medical staff clean and disinfect these premises on a regular basis.
The wards in the medical centre named after S.A.Niyazov and the Central Clinical Hospital of Ashgabat have also been also reserved for the same reason.
These medical facilities also deny admissions to patients by directing them to the hospital named after Semashko, located in Keshi. The conditions in this hospital are much worse and for this reason patients try to get admitted to more state-of-the-art medical centers by using personal connections and paying bribes.
“Chronicles of Turkmenistan” has previously reported that cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Turkmenistan. Seven people are being kept in the quarantine zone of Turkmenabat.
The official Turkmenistan denies confirmed COVID-19 cases despite the fact that the head of state refrains from attending large-scale events.
