Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu held a telephone conversation on Friday. The agenda of the talks included discussions on the summit meeting of the Heads of State of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, scheduled to be held this year.
The officials discussed the prospects for the development of Turkmen-Turkish relations in accordance with the instructions of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan following their recent telephone conversation, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in its press release.
During the talks, the foreign ministers paid special attention to the preparations for the Turkish President’s visit to Turkmenistan.
Noting the constructive nature of cooperation within different international formats, the ministers emphasized the importance of the meeting of the Heads of State of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, scheduled to be held this year.
The ministers also noted the effectiveness of interaction between the foreign ministries, and confirmed the interest of the parties in the further development of trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties.
