President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has issued reprimands to the heads of financial and bank sector at a meeting on outcomes of development of banking sector in 2020 and objectives of the sphere for the current year.
The Head of State expressed dissatisfaction with the activities of credit institutions and other departments included in this block, and reproved the weak organization of work, having demanded to correct the deficiencies in management.
In this context, the President reprimanded Vice-Premier, Gadyrgeldi Mushshikov, who oversees economic issues in the government. The Minister of Finance and Economy Muhammetgeldi Serdarov received a severe reprimand. The minister has been given a final warning to remedy the shortcomings; in case he fails to correct the situation, he would lose his post.
The heads of almost all banks in the country were also reprimanded. While, the Chairmen of the Central Bank, SCB “Turkmenistan” and SCB “Turkmenbashi” received severe reprimands with a final warning.
Severe reprimands were issued to the head of Vnesheconombank, the Chairman of the State Development Bank, the Chairman of Dayhanbank and the Chairmen of the Board of the Joint-Stock Commercial Banks Halkbank and Senagat.
The Chairman of the Board of JSCB “Rysgal” received a “normal” reprimand.
The activity of the banking sector will be analyzed in detail, taking into account the requirements voiced today, based on the results of the first half of the year. Then, the activities of the heads of banks will be assessed, Berdimuhamedov said.
