Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Meets Japanese Prime Minister Kishida

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, within the framework of his working visit to Japan met with the country’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Kishida thanked for the memorial dinner given by Berdimuhamedov in Turkmenistan to commemorate former Prime Minister Abe, and expressed his gratitude for attending the state funeral of the late Shinzo Abe, the Foreign Ministry of Japan said in its press release.

In turn, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said the death of former Prime Minister Abe was a great tragedy for the people of Turkmenistan, and expressed his heartfelt condolences.

The sides also exchanged views on the further participation of Japanese businesses in development projects in Turkmenistan.

They also welcomed the activities of the Parliamentary Friendship group of the two countries, and agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year.

The working visit of the Halk Maslakhaty Chairman to Japan started on Sunday.

The state funeral of the former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe was held on September 27.
