Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Invites Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Turkmenistan

The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on Tuesday, held a phone conversation with the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during which he invited the Turkish leader to visit Turkmenistan at a convenient time.

According to official Turkmen media, the two leaders discussed strengthening friendly relations and upcoming events.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to Erdoğan for his support in preparing for the international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet Magtymguly, highlighting the Turkish president’s contribution to preserving and promoting the legacy of the great poet.

Both leaders emphasized the strategic nature of the bilateral relationship, which is built on shared cultural, linguistic, and spiritual ties.

At the end of the conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, exchanged wishes of good health, happiness, and peace, as well as prosperity for the brotherly peoples of both nations.

On October 8, 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree awarding President Erdoğan with Turkmenistan’s commemorative medal “In Honor of the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy.”
