Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation, during which they discussed strengthening bilateral relations and summed up the results of the international conference dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude for the invitation to the forum and the award of the jubilee medal “For the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi”, emphasizing the importance of the poet’s work for strengthening friendly ties between peoples.

The interlocutors noted the fruitful development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, especially in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations based on the traditions of good neighborliness and the high level of mutual trust in the intergovernmental dialogue.

The parties also discussed the current state of Turkmen-Uzbek relations and prospects for cooperation in the trade and economic, fuel and energy, transport and communications and agricultural spheres. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of previously reached agreements and planned joint projects.
