Gazprom Purchases 5 Billion Cubic Meters of Turkmen Gas

Gazprom purchased from Turkmenistan about 5 billion cubic meters of gas last year under the agreement concluded by the parties, TASS news agency reported on Thursday citing an interview with Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Alexander Blokhin.

The Ambassador noted that Russia and Turkmenistan are negotiating on establishing underground gas storage facilities.

Russian energy giant Gazprom bought 10.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Turkmenistan in 2021.

In July 2019, Gazprom signed a five-year contract to buy gas from Turkmen state natural gas producer Türkmengaz State Concern (until June 30, 2024).
