“Gazelle” electric minibuses are being tested in Moscow

The Russian automaker “GAZ” in Nizhny Novgorod launched the “Gazelle” electric minibuses, which are currently being tested on the streets of Moscow, writes the “MIR 24” portal.

According to the creators of mini-electric buses, such minibuses are ideal for narrow roads and a small number of passengers. Their distinctive feature is panoramic glazing, which permits passengers to better follow the road and not miss their stop, in addition, large windows let in more light.

The salons are equipped with terminals for contactless fare payment and connectors for recharging mobile phones. The new “Gazelles” are designed for 16 passengers. The battery charge is enough for 150 kilometers, and the charging process itself takes less than an hour.

To facilitate the work of the driver, the gearbox has been replaced by a special switch, which is enough to turn to start moving. The interior video monitoring system with cameras and a touch screen permits you to control the situation on the road.

“Gazelle” minibuses have a low entrance to the passenger compartment and a special folding ramp for wheelchairs or prams.

The new model will be tested until August 2023, and based on the results of the tests, a decision will be made on permanent use in Moscow and other cities.
