Galina Kucherenko’s daughter allowed to visit her mother

Galina Kucherenko is still being held in the detention facility of the Interior Ministry in the village of Arzuv.Valeria last visited Galina on 12 December and handed over hot food and the items she needed.

In the course of the next few days Valeria was disallowed from handing over food and clothes to her mother. However, on 18 December officers from the detention facility called Valeria who was permitted to bring a package.

It should be mentioned that the dogs and cats, confiscated from Galina’s apartment, are being kept in quarantine at a vet clinic. They are scheduled to be transferred soon to a shelter for stray animals.

Valeria was permitted to take home the pets with reference to the resolution of 2013, pursuant to which residents of apartment blocks are entitled to keep no more than 2 cats and dogs in their apartment.

Let us recall that on 7 December a group of unidentified individuals, who introduced themselves as law enforcement officers, broke into Galina’s apartment.

They broke the metal door and forcibly detained the mother and daughter.By the evening Valeria was released with a 50 manat fine being imposed on her for resisting arrest.

Galina Kucherenko received a 15 day sentence.
