Russian and Turkmen politic relations set the tone for the productively development of partnership between the countries. Thanks to constant contacts at international level, the spheres of mutual interests and directions to the cooperation have been concretized, noticed the economist and scientist Yuri Aronsky in his interview to the “centralasia.news” edition.
In this sense, 2021, despite the coronavirus pandemic, has also become very fruitful. It is special to note the constant contacts between countries.
On June 29, a telephone conversation took place between Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin, where the President of Russian Federation congratulated the Turkmen leader with his birthday, wishing strong health, prosperity and further success in versatile state activities.
Also, on that day, the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, congratulated the head of Turkmenistan by telephone.
The President of Turkmenistan spoke about Russian and Turkmen relations more completely and vividly in his exclusive interview with first Deputy Director of General of the Telegraph Agency of the Soviet Union (TASS) Mihail Gusman. The head of the State answered to many questions, dealing with various aspects of relations between Russian and Turkmenistan.
Also, the political event of historical significance, became the interview of the President of Turkmenistan with journalist of international TV and radio company “Mir”, in which Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to a peaceful foreign policy, aimed at strengthening and building up a multi-vector international partnership, that meet the goals of common prosperity and progress.
The strengthening of bilateral ties between Turkmenistan and Russia facilitate to the holding of high-level meetings and participation in international conferences and forums.
Last year in April, a Turkmen delegation was sent to Moscow for holding negotiations on bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation. There was a political consultation between Ministers of Foreign Affairs of two countries. The Diplomats attended in recurrent conference of Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Later, on 29-30 April, the delegation of Turkmenistan attended in meeting of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EIPC), held in the Kazan city, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation.
And in early summer, held the meeting between Russian and Turkmen relations in St. Petersburg, where the XXIV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) was also held, in which both parts participated actively.
The priority directions for the development of a constructive inter-parliamentary dialogue were discussed in the framework of a telephone conversation held on October 18 between the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gulshat Mammedova and the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko.
