Freight diesel locomotives purchased in Russia arrived in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan has received five new 2TE25KM freight diesel locomotives from Russia. They were purchased from the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant, announced the “Watan” program of the Turkmen television.

The arrival of new locomotives was met according to the original national traditions and customs, the essential attributes of which are the shedding of flour, tying the amulet-alaja.

The contract between “Demiryollary” OJSC and the Russian locomotive manufacturer “Bryansk Engineering Plant Management Company” JSC (part of the “Transmashholding” holding) for the supply of five units of the 2TE25KM brand diesel locomotive was signed in the summer of 2022.

The diesel locomotive 2TE25KM is the first diesel locomotive in Russia assembled from 90% Russian-made components, and is considered a product of import substitution.Specifications allow 2TE25KM to drive a train weighing up to 6,4 thousand tons.

The use of diesel locomotives of this series makes it possible to increase the average weight of trains and increase the volume of freight traffic while reducing operating costs.

Particular attention is paid to ensuring the safety and comfortable working conditions of the locomotive crew.

Diesel locomotives of this series are widely used on the railways of Russia and Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Machines of this series have been produced at BMZ since 2014 and have proven themselves well in different climatic zones.

Let us remind that in 2021, the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant manufactured and sent to Turkmenistan one diesel locomotive 2TE25KM.
