Four thousand gamers named Lara Croft the most iconic video game character

BAFTA has released the results of a survey of gamers to determine the most iconic video game character of all time. 4000 players from all over the world took part in the voting. This is reported by daily.afisha.ru.

The winner was Lara Croft, the fearless tomb raider from the Tomb Raider series of games. Debuting in 1996, it has since won millions of hearts and has been featured numerous times on television, film and video games.

Second place in the ranking was taken by Mario, the famous plumber from the Nintendo universe, who first appeared in 1981. Bronze went to Agent 47 from the Hitman series, which debuted in 2000.

The fourth place was taken by Sonic the Hedgehog, who has appeared in more than 100 video games, as well as in television shows and films. Fifth place went to Sackboy from the LittleBigPlanet series of games, which first appeared in 2008.

The list also includes such legendary characters as Pac-Man, Link, Master Chief, Kratos, Shadowheart, Arthur Morgan, Pikachu, Steve, Solid Snake, Crash Bandicoot, Cloud Strife, Astarion, Kazuma Kiryu, Ellie Williams, Nathan Drake and others.
