The annual meeting of the board and members of the Austrian-Turkmen Society was held in Ashgabat. This event marked an important milestone, since for the first time in the 16 years of the organization's existence, its meeting was held not in Vienna, but in the Turkmen capital.
As part of a working visit of Austrian companies that are members of the society, a meeting was held at the office of the company Bash Taglym Turkmen (Baker Tilly). The main topic on the agenda was strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Austria. Representatives of Turkmen and Austrian companies took part in the event, Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
At the beginning of the meeting, all participants warmly congratulated the head of the society, Neda Berger, on her recent anniversary and wished her good health, youth of spirit, optimism and inexhaustible energy.
Neda Berger thanked for the good wishes and showed off an invaluable gift - a book of her poems in 4 languages with an introductory article by the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
In his article, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highly appreciated the 16-year activity of the society and the personal contribution of Neda Berger to the development of friendly Turkmen-Austrian relations.
The head of the society spoke about its activities aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries. She expressed hope that more Turkmen companies would want to become part of the Austrian-Turkmen Society, noting the benefits of membership: the opportunity to establish business contacts, exchange experiences and find new partners for joint projects.
Then the participants presented their companies. During a lively discussion, partnership opportunities in various sectors of the economy, such as construction, medicine and others, were discussed. A number of proposals and mutual wishes were put forward.
Neda Berger recalled her initiative, proposed during the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov to Austria on March 11-12, to create the House of Austria in Ashgabat in 2025 for the 30th anniversary of the neutrality of Turkmenistan and the 70th anniversary of the neutrality of Austria.
This initiative was approved by the President of Turkmenistan at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The issue of signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between Turkmen and Austrian companies within the society for more targeted joint work was also discussed. It was decided to prepare a draft agreement.
The round table once again confirmed the need to hold such mutual meetings in Ashgabat, which will become an effective platform for interaction and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Austria.
