The workshop on introducing quality management system in testing and calibrating laboratories in compliance with international standard ISO/IEC 17025 has been held in Ashgabat.
The event organized by the European Union project “Support for Further Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development in Turkmenistan” brought together 19 specialists from various laboratories who work with food products, including staff of the Centre of Health and Public Catering, laboratory of Turkmenistan’s Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Turkmenstandartlary Service as well as the inspectors of the Calibration Centre.
Improving competitiveness of Turkmen food manufacturers through developing the quality infrastructure is one of the key project goals, “Turkmenistan: golden age” reported on 8 August.
It should be highlighted that over the past year Turkmenistan has been undertaking efforts to increase the range of products for domestic and export markets.On 3 August 2018 at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov instructed that ministers together with Turkmenistan’s Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs increase exports of Turkmen merchandise.
ISO/IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories is the ISO standard used by testing and calibration laboratories.
ISO/IEC 17025 helps facilitate cooperation between laboratories and other bodies by generating wider acceptance of testing and calibration results between countries.
