Flower-laying ceremony at Gagarin's monument was held in Ashgabat

On the International Day of Human Space Flight, a flower-laying ceremony at the bust of Yuri Gagarin was held on the territory of the Department of Education, Science and Culture of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan.

Representatives of the Russian Embassy, teachers and students of the Joint Turkmen-Russian General Education School named after A. S. Pushkin, journalists took part in the solemn event.

The participants emphasized the significance of this day for the scientific and technological breakthrough of mankind.As noted, Russia remains one of the recognized leaders in the field of space research of manned flights.

Flight tests of a new manned spacecraft are planned for 2023, a new generation transport system is being developed, infrastructure, heavy and super-heavy missile systems are being created at the Vostochny cosmodrome.

Space exploration is one of the most important areas of interaction between Russia and Turkmenistan, the speakers said. Turkmen-Russian initiatives in the field of astronomy, astrophysics and space research are designed to make a significant contribution to the development of the scientific and intellectual potential of the two countries.

We remind that April 12 was declared the International Day of Human Space Flight in April 2011 at the United Nations General Assembly, which adopted a special resolution supported by 60 states.
