Flower-laying ceremony at Ataturk's monument was held in Ashgabat

Today in Ashgabat, in the Ataturk Square opposite the Embassy of Türkiye, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the monument to the founder and first President of the Republic of Türkiye, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

The event was dedicated to the 84th anniversary of the death of the national leader of Türkiye. The participants honored the memory of the prominent Turkish reformer with a minute of silence.

The ceremony was attended by employees of the Turkish Embassy in Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, representatives of Turkish companies, the public and the media. Turkish Ambassador to Turkmenistan Togan Oral addressed the audience.

The founder of the modern Turkish state died on November 10, 1938 at the age of 57 in the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul. In 1953, 15 years after Atatürk's death, his body was transferred from the Ethnographic Museum in Ankara to the Anitkabir mausoleum.
