Flight delayed in Milan due to too thick seat cushions

An unusual incident occurred on a British Airways flight from Milan to London. The flight was delayed due to a mismatch in the size of the seat cushions, Tengritravel.kz reports with reference to Travel Pulse.

The situation, which at first seemed like a joke, turned into a real flight delay. Videos have appeared online where passengers are actively helping the crew solve the problem.

During an unscheduled inspection, Italian aviation authorities found that the seat cushions in some rows of the plane were too thick. This could prevent the evacuation of passengers in case of emergency.

To fix the problem, the flight was delayed for more than an hour. Dozens of “wrong” pillows were replaced with thinner ones. Only after this did Italian officials give permission to fly.

One video posted on TikTok shows passengers working together to tear the cushions off their seats and search for the serial numbers dictated by the crew.
