First Giant Panda Cub Born in Russia

For the first time in the history of Russia, a giant panda cub was born in the Moscow Zoo, reports aif.ru with reference to the Telegram channel of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

The head of the Russian capital stressed in his message that the birth of giant panda bear cubs in captivity is a rare and unique event. It happened thanks to the skilled work of Russian experts and their Chinese colleagues.

Sobyanin noted that thanks to the efforts of China and its partners, the number of these rare animals has grown to almost 2 600 individuals, of which 1 900 live in the wild.

The baby panda was born to a pair of pandas named Ruyi and Dingdin. China presented them to Russia in 2019 in honor of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the states.
