The State Electricity Corporation Türkmenenergo, Tanawir and Sanergy Pishro Export and Energy Promotion have signed a Framework Agreement to secure financing for the Turkmen section of the power transmission line connecting Mary (Turkmenistan) to Mashhad (Iran), the Turkmen official media reports.
The document was signed on Saturday in Ashgabat during the regular meeting of the Turkmen-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties highlighted their constant efforts to further develop relations between the two countries in the gas sector.
Furthermore, Turkmenistan expressed its intention to enhance the volume of natural gas exports to the neighbouring country by fully utilizing the capacity of the Körpeje-Gurtguýy gas pipeline. Additionally, Turkmenistan conveyed its willingness to expand the supply of Turkmen natural gas to Iran through the Çaloýuk station.
Within the framework of this meeting, the State Agency for Road Construction Management of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Road and Urban Construction of the Islamic Republic of Iran signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the construction of the Gumdag- Etrek- Iran border road.
