The International Film Festival in Ashgabat brought together representatives of the film industry of the Turkic countries, demonstrating a high level of intercultural dialogue in the field of cinema. Delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, three regions of Russia (Bashkortostan, Tuva, Chuvashia), Moldova, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part in the event, TDH reports.
The three-day program of the film festival covers several leading cultural venues in Ashgabat. Screenings of domestic and foreign films will be held at the Aşgabat cinema and the Watan and Turkmenistan cinema and concert centers.
The organizers paid special attention to the educational component: master classes from recognized figures in the film industry are planned for students of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture.
An important event will be the meeting of filmmakers from TURKSOY member countries at the Aşgabat Hotel, where participants will discuss the prospects for the development of the film industry in the Turkic world.
As part of the cultural program, foreign delegations visited iconic historical and modern landmarks of Turkmenistan. The guests were particularly impressed by the visit to the ancient city of Anau and the Seyit Jemaletdin Mosque, which are important monuments of the country’s cultural heritage.
The cultural exchange program also includes an excursion to the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex, where festival participants will be able to get acquainted with the national pride of Turkmenistan Akhal-Teke horses. The guests also took a sightseeing tour of the white-marble capital, getting acquainted with the modern architecture and infrastructure of Ashgabat.
