FIFA announced a tender for coverage of the largest football tournaments in Central Asia

The International Football Federation (FIFA) announced the expansion of media rights to cover the two largest upcoming football tournaments in the Central Asian region - the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2024 Futsal World Cup, reports sport.kg.

FIFA invites local media companies from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to apply for broadcast rights for these tournaments by January 30.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Mexico, the United States and Canada, is expected to attract a record 48 teams. This will give at least 8 teams from Asia the opportunity to take part in the final part of the tournament.

The 2024 Futsal World Cup will be held in Uzbekistan from September 14 to October 6. 24 teams will take part in the tournament.
